About Us

Santa Fe DBT, LLC was founded in 1998 by Cedar Koons, LCSW and Bette Betts, LCSW. It was the first DBT program in New Mexico. SFDBT offers Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) in fidelity to the evidence-based model. This means, we do DBT the way it was designed in order to get the best results — without shortcuts or unproven adaptations. SFDBT is a DBT-Linehan Board of Certification Certified DBT Program™. Additionally, three of our therapists are DBT-Linehan Board of Certification, Certified Clinicans™ and our fourth team member is in the process of completing certification. Since 2012, we have been offering a DBT Fellowship position. All of us participate in a weekly two-hour team consultation meeting required for therapists. We are proud of the excellent results we help our clients achieve, and we have the data to show that we are effective at helping clients reach their mental health goals. Please take a look at our team members and their experience.
